Chartering around Phuket and Phang Nga BayPhang Nga is a province located north of Phuket, approximately 45-minute by car. Visit Phang Nga Bay National Park for scenic views of literally hundreds of limestone cliffs rising over the sea. There are 2 popular spots here; with its signature rocky pinnacle, James Bond Island is spectacular. Named because it was used in the film “The Man with the Golden Gun”, crowds flock to Khao Phingkan hoping for a piece of movie action. Koh Pannyi “Sea Gypsy Island” is also popular. Home to a remarkable Muslim village, the whole of it built out over the water on stilts, it is well worth a visit for souvenir shopping. We recommend anchoring off at Koh Phauak. This is a good place due to the hong. Take the kayak into the hong and see the Monkeys Bay. You will spot monitor lizards. Next anchor off at Koh Ping Kau also named James Bond Island, nice place to visit after 4 pm when the crowd leaves. Koh Yao Noi is another island to visit. It has a resort called “Paradise”. Nice place to stop for lunch and have a massage thereafter. We can then proceed to Yacht Haven Marina passing a nice channel between Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai. Stop for a swim at Kao Wa Yai. Phuket is an island connected by bridges to Southern Thailand's Andaman Sea coast, in the Indian Ocean, lying between 7° 45 and 8° 15 north latitude, and from 98° 15 to 98° 40 west longtitude on the map. Measured at its widest point, Phuket is 21.3 kilometres; at its longest, 48.7 kilometres. It is bounded thus.
The most beautiful beaches are found on the West Coast, separated by rocky coves and headlands. The east coast comprises limestone shoals with only a few sandy beaches while spectacular limestone islands adorn the horizon. Coral gardens full of exotic marine life dot the emerald waters surrounding the island, although sadly much of Phuket's coral has been disappearing due to environmental pressures and human activities.
We recommend boarding in Ao Chalong and proceed to Nai Harm Bay. Travelling time is 45 mins. Nai Harm has some good seafood restaurants. From Nai Harm to Ko Racha Yai is 1 hour. Ko Racha Yai is 2 miles long and 1 mile wide. The island has resorts where you can stop for a drink or a meal ashore. A good place to do some trekking. From Ko Racha Yai to Surin Beach is 25 miles and takes 1.15 hrs run. Surin beach is one of the island ’s only zoned public beaches. As such it has no resorts but many restaurants and food stalls along the beach. From Surin beach to Nai Yang Bay is 10 miles. It is just 10 minutes by taxi to the airport to catch your flight back. |
